Google have released a new project called TrimJunction; their vision:
In a nutshell: mindlessly copy and port Rails, because it’s a great web MVC framework. The result should be a web MVC framework that runs in either the client AND the server. While we’re at it, explore and push the edges of occasionally connected web applications.
It runs on Rhino - Steve Yegge ported it. I think that the examples really show that the main reason that Rails is so good, is because of Ruby. That said, I think this could be an exciting development to keep an eye on.
Update: TrimJunction is just hosted on Google, not an actual product of the big G. However I hear that Google may be working on something similar.
